Arousing Secrets: What’s Done in the Dark: An Erotic Suspense (The Arousing Series Book 2) By Cam Johns is an emotional ride that leaves you with a huge book hangover. This book picks up right where Karisma and Jackson left off in book one. Karisma can’t keep dealing with the secrets everyone around her seems to be keeping and Jackson can’t stop himself from protecting Karisma even if that means keeping things from her but is he willing to keep things secret if it pushes her away? These two deal with so many twist and turns in this mystery filled book. This author knows all the right ways to keep you on the edge of your seat while you’re left with feelings of heartbreak and heart warming moments. This story is just as amazing as book one. It’s beautifully written and well thought out with characters you love and root for from the sidelines. I couldn’t put this book down without knowing what was happening next and this author does suspense and mystery so well you get lost between real life and book world. The relationship between Karisma and Jackson is one that any person would wish to have. I give this book five stars and I anxiously wait for the next book to see where Karisma and Jackson takes us next.
How About A Snippet:
I decide to just let go and give into our bodies’ desire. I lean forward giving him my unspoken answer. He caresses my lips with his softly, barely touching. Everything melts away. We’re suddenly alone, clear-headed and nothing holding us back. It’s just us. He places my head in his hands and kisses me softly and slowly as if he wants to savor my touch…our intensity…our love. He massages my impatient lips perfectly against his. Oh, my. He slowly sneaks his tongue into my mouth and back out as he grabs at my ponytail and I fist in his hair. I’ve missed this. He just makes me feel sexy, and most important, loved. As he slows down his assault and kisses me on the corners of my mouth, he places his forehead against mine. With my head still in his hands, I look up at him as he stares down at me.
“You said you’d never leave me again.” He says quietly, his words slicing through me.
