Rousing Obsession (cont.)

             Read Part Two

I stand there aghast unable to accept his revelation as truth. Quincy has never mentioned a brother to me. In fact, he claimed he had no remaining family members. I rather believe this kidnapper before me is the liar…not someone I trusted for years. “You’re a goddamn liar!” I shout in his face. It’s unnerving how willful I’ve become dealing with this obvious con artist. He lifts his hands over his face taking a deep breath no doubt losing his patience with me. That should be a cue to back off but of course my big mouth just pushes him further. “Hello! What the fuck is going on?” He drops his hands placing them in his pockets. He impatiently stares at me taking a few steps forward.

“Your smart mouth was cute when I was gonna fuck you last night…but don’t push it.” He says. Should that have turned me on? There’s something wrong with me. What if he is telling the truth…awkward. I take a deep breath before sitting back down on the couch and picking the papers up from the floor. I should at least look through everything before I chew him out any further. The file is the case on Quincy’s murder. Everything from photos to suspects. None of this shocked me considering I was very involved with the case until it began to take over my life…and the cops were getting nowhere. “Come with me.” He says then heads toward the back of the house. I follow without hesitation into a bedroom that was locked earlier. I walk in immediately noticing the Samuel L. Jackson Shaft poster on the wall. I laugh to myself finding it ridiculous. “I guess he didn’t tell you he was a fan.” He? Qunicy’s room?

“This was his room?” I ask now reluctant to enter further. As if I’m invading his secrecy. He nods waving me in. I scan the photos of him playing football as a teen and him and Luke…his brother.  On the bed was the photos that Luke removed from the wall. His smile is displayed everywhere, the smile I’ve missed for years. He just seems so free-spirited and at ease. Something I didn’t get to see often. Now I know why. I could always tell there was something he wasn’t telling me, I just figured he would let me in when he was ready. None of his secrets kept me from not wanting to spend my life with him. Hold the fuck up.

“You’re such an asshole!” I shout suddenly not sure why I’ve just realized this. He turns to face me angrily confused.

“Yo, what the fuck did I just tell you!” He yanks my arm pulling me into him. The closeness radiates wanton bouncing between our bodies. I pull away from him wanting to break the tension.

“You knew who I was and you still try’n fuck me.” He stands straight putting his hands back in his pockets. He takes a breath cooling his heightened temper before answering me.

“We shouldn’t talk about that now.” He almost whispers. Why not?

“Well I think we should.” I folded my arms tapping my foot awaiting an appropriate reason for his deception.

“Too bad…I think it’s more important to tell you why you’re in danger.” Yes…he did say that didn’t he. He takes my hand pulling me back to the living room where I sit looking through the file once again. There must be something I’ve missed.

“I already know about all this…why am I here?” I ask quietly. He sits beside me taking my hand into his. His touch not only didn’t repulse me, but he gazes with the same enamored scrutiny his brother used. He is telling the truth. How did I not see the relation before now?

“There’s something he didn’t get a chance to tell you before he died.” I took a breath nudging for him to continue. “He was an undercover cop.” A cop? Why would he lie about that? “He obviously couldn’t tell you, and he needed to keep you and that separate.” Which is understandable. Still doesn’t tell me why I’m in danger. “I’ve been following the person I think killed him…which led me to you.”

“How?” I ask confused.

“He’s been following you.” What!

“Luke, I don’t understand. Why? I don’t know shit.” I say frantically, but him holding my hand placates me.

“You don’t know what you know.” He turns completely facing me grabbing my other hand in his. “Do you mind telling me about that night?” He asks intrigued. Maybe there is something. I’ve gone over this repeatedly with the cops, I don’t see how he would see anything different. “Just tell me.” I look down at our entwined hands not wanting to go through this again…but I have to.

That morning I wake up alone in the bed. Why’s he up so early, it’s only five thirty. He’s rarely here, now I have to worry about him sneaking around too. I slide from the bed still groggy wiping my eyes and sliding on my slippers. The door to the bedroom open, I walk into the living room without him hearing me. He’s on the phone, so I step quietly trying to hear what’s being said.

I’m telling her…I can’t talk about that now…Terrence, I’ll meet you in a few…Don’t fuckin’ piss me off and keep me waiting. He hangs up. Tell me what? I watch him relax, now slumped on the couch. Something’s clearly bothering him, and it has him anxious.

“Sneaking off?” I ask now standing in front of him. He jumps up as if he were caught in a lie. I eye him suspiciously wanting to know what’s going on. Why’s he so jumpy? But I know better than to ask considering he never answers me. He’s clearly hiding something.

“I have to go.” He says quietly.  Of course you do.

“Just get the hell outta here.” I say throwing my hand up and walking away. He grabs my arm quickly pulling me back to him. Snatching it back, I push away from him pressing against his bare chest. “Just stop.” I say holding my hands up. We’ve been together long enough and I think I’ve earned the truth. What accountant you know sneaks around like this and go off to meetings early morning and late nights.

“C’mon Ronnie…don’t be mad.” There’s no way I’m looking him in the eye. He has a way of smiling with his eyes, telepathically dropping my panties…not that I’m wearing any. He chuckles inching closer without touching me. “That shit’s not gonna work.” I don’t respond. Uncontrollably, my eyes survey his muscular body as he stands before me in his boxers. Obviously he knows I’m admiring his physique because he begins to flex instantly turning me on. I hate he knows how to get his way.

“Don’t you have somewhere more important to be?” I snap now looking him in the eye. He silently gazes through me then begins to back me against the wall. His hands balled into a fist I guess annoyed at my response. Placing his hands on the wall above my head, he leans down and kisses me gently. I don’t resist him as he presses his body against mine lifting my leg. I feel his length growing stroking at my pussy. “There’s nothing more important than you.” He says breathy then lifts me to his waist dropping his pants.

“Wo! Wo! Wo goddammit!” Luke says interrupting my recollection. “Skip that shit.” I giggle uncomfortably as he adjusts in the couch releasing my hands finally.

“Okay…”

“Did he say anything to you before he left?”

Lying in the bed now sweaty and out of breath, he caresses my hair as I lie on his chest. “There’s a lot I need to tell you.” He admits.

“I know. I’m ready to hear it.” I whisper. I feel his chest lift as he takes a deep breath.

“After tonight, I can tell you everything…but I have to go.” He kisses me on the forehead and slides off the bed to dress.

“Oh yes…to meet this Terrance person.” I say revealing that I was eavesdropping. He faces me pulling his shirt over his head before leaning over me. He kisses me slowly as I wrap my arms around his neck. If I only knew that would be the last time.

“Yes…Terrance. I’ll be back tonight. Love you.” I smile back as I always do and watch him leave the room.

“Do you know Terrance?” I ask Luke who is now standing. The agitation is visibly coursing through his body as he paces the floor with his hands in a fist. Finally he stands in front of me with his arms crossed.

“Veronica…he’s been following you.”

Finale

It seems like an eternity being forced to remain outside my own office. The sounds of Robert’s roaring intimidation echoes through the hall, as I cringe at each of Mr. Berger’s blood curdling howls. I’m not sure if I should be pleased with his punishment, or angry that Robert is delivering it. Either way this shouldn’t be happening, let alone taking place in my office. However there’s nothing I can do considering one of the giants is blocking my door and has snatched my phone from me. I’m left here to decide what side of the law I want to be on and it’s not easy.

Suddenly I realize it’s gone silent. Robert’s wrath must be over. Before I could approach the door, it opens. I stand unable to move as I wait for the goon to step aside and reveal the mayhem that’s taken over my office.

“Thank you Harrison.” Robert says tapping his goon’s shoulder. As he steps aside, Robert steps out removing the blood from his hands with a white handkerchief. His suit jacket now removed and shirt untucked. Is it rational for me to think how sexy he looks right now? Oh god, there’s something seriously wrong with me. He just stares expressionless waiting for me to speak I assume. Quite honestly, I just want to walk pass him and make sure Berger’s alive. “I had to.” He says finally handing the handkerchief to the goon I now know as Harrison. He then gestures his head toward my office and Harrison disappears. Oh goodness.

“So was this the idea all along? You were gonna beat his ass into submission.” I snap.

“No, but I certainly wasn’t gonna let him talk to you like that.”

“You promised we’d do this the legal way.”

“Well too fucking bad…this is what I do dammit!”

I look around the room thinking there’s obviously someone else he’s talking to. He’s certainly not talking to me like that. “Umm…I think you need to readjust your tone.” I say calmly by walking toward my office. He holds out his hand to stop me. “Move!” I shout pushing his arm away.

Walking into my office the metal smell of blood and sweat greets me. Harrison has already packed up “Mr. Hyde’s” tool kit and heads out of the office. Berger’s defenseless slouched body is still tied to my office chair. Blood is dripping from his face but his head is down so I’m unable to how bad Robert abused him. What’s worse is I don’t feel bad for him. After all, he is a murderer and tried to frame someone else. There’s still one thing lingering, that I need to know. Why? As I sit across from him he shuffles painfully in his seat to sit up. He eyes me angrily with his half opened available eye, the other being swollen shut. I can’t help but stare at the purple bruises and blood falling from his forehead. “I just don’t understand….why Jason?” I whisper.

He chuckles a bit before wincing at the pain. I look up to see Robert has made his way in to monitor this discussion no doubt.

“I made a lot of money in this business.” Berger answers finally.

“Business?”

He chuckles again even though it obviously hurts him. Jerk. “It’s cute you still wanna make a difference. Once I saw potential for making money not prosecuting certain people, I weighed the odds, needless to say…odds lost.” He chuckles like an evil villain in a bad movie.

I can’t believe I’m hearing this. The disgust turns to rage and before I know it my hand is up ready to slap him, but Robert grabs my arm. “That’s for me to do…not you.” Robert snickers making me even more pissed.

“Well, what the hell does Jason have to do with your business?”

“Easy…Jason grew a conscious and I couldn’t have that.” His smug answer intensifies my rage. I jump out of my seat realizing he’s insinuating Jason was involved in his scheming. “Framing your boyfriend here was even easier.”

With that, my hand slaps him hard across the face making him buckle in his chair. God, that felt so good. Robert grabs my arm and pulls me out of the office.

“You know you’re anger is hot as hell, but I think you should stay away from this.” He says smiling down at me as I snatch my arm from him.

I start to pace the floor as my wheel spins, trying to put this all together. “Did you know Jason was involved?” I ask.

“Of course. My brother tried to convince him to do the right thing on his own, but some people need more than words to see things your way…” He says so matter of fact. Interesting, that’s exactly what Elliot said. Something I can’t change about him.

“Okay, well… you obviously can’t turn him in looking like that.” I say pointing toward my office.

“No…he’s not getting turned in Ally.” He whispers.

“What! I don’t understand.”

“C’mon…going public with the District Attorney being dirty will be bad press…that’s what we need to avoid.”

“What!” I just can’t win.

“Listen, once he heals he’s gonna have to step down, and Elliot will take his place. That’s just how it has to be.”

“What about the case against you? What about Jason’s family? No one will know the truth.”

“So what if people think I’m a bad guy…I am. My brother will handle Jason’s family.”

I’m not sure what that means, but this is not what I signed up for. This is not justice at all. I can’t understand why this is something Robert has to do with his life. I certainly cannot be with him, if this is how he’s going to make his money. Maybe if he could explain to me why he started doing this, I would understand somehow and learn to accept him for who he is. I look up into his nervous hazel eyes hoping he could find a way to persuade me to uphold this vigilante justice. I approach him cautiously and take his hands into mine. “Do you think you can explain to me why you do this?” I whisper. He shuts his eyes and takes a breath before inching closer to me. When he opens his eyes I know he’s ready to open up to me in a way he’s never before.

“Ally I-”.

“Ahem.” The sound of someone clearing his throat behind us interrupts him. When Robert looks up to see who, he releases my hands immediately and puts his in his pockets. His entire vulnerable demeanor has reverted back to his infamous intimidation. I turn to see Elliot standing behind me assertively. “Excuse us a moment Alexandra.” Elliot says emphatically.

I look up at Robert as if to get permission, but he doesn’t even look at me. So I decide to just walk far enough down the hall and behind a wall to divert suspicion that I might be listening.

“You weren’t seriously about to tell her everything, were you?” I recognize as Elliot’s voice.

“I love her.” Robert whispers. My heart melts at his revelation.

“You fucking idiot. I can’t believe this…under no circumstances are you tell her the truth Rob.” I don’t hear a response. “Let’s finish this.”

After a minute or so of silence I realize they must have went to talk to Berger. It’s evident that there’s more to the Elliot/Thoms dynamic than meets the eye. I’m going to find out the truth whether Elliot likes it or not.

The End. For Now.

Arousing Objections (Part Three)

Part Three

Breathe Alex. As I walk toward my office, I try to keep our salacious rendezvous out of mind. Sitting at my desk I go over the case I should hand over to someone else…State v. Robert Thoms. What the hell am I doing? I’m confident with the decision I made last night, Robert being the lesser of two evils. First thing’s first, I have to visit our A.D.A. Ellis Elliot. I have to verify this sexy asshole’s story. Yes, he is quite handsome. I smile thinking about him as I walk toward Elliot’s office. This is ridiculous, I should be concerned about these new revelations. Instead my mind wonders to my titillating morning.

“So…” He whispers grabbing my hand.

“I’m not sure what you’re expecting Robert.”

“You know what I’m expecting.” He asserts.

“You think ‘cause you’ve shown me all that I’m gonna just spread my legs.” I snap walking away from him and plopping into his oversized brown leather recliner. “If anything it shows me how much of a jackass you are.” I slouch back crossing my legs letting my eyes wonder the room. Right away I regard the photos on the walls now seeing why he kept me from his home.

He walks over kneeling before me, grabbing my hands into his. “Ally, I need to feel you.” He whispers gazing with those hazel puppy dog eyes. Ugh. I hate he has this hold on me. Slowly, I pull my hands from his grip, uncrossing my legs and standing as he drops his head to the floor aghast. After lifting my skirt to grab the waist of my stockings, I seductively roll  them down. He eyes me intrigued as the stockings reach my ankles. “I’ll take it from here.” He says surreptitiously. He places my hands on his shoulders before lifting my legs one at a time to remove my heels and stockings. Before I could resist he quickly spreads my legs before lifting one on his shoulder ramming his long tongue inside me. Oh my.

“Alex!” I hear my name called disrupting my lewd thoughts. I turn to see Berger flagging me down.

“Mr. Berger.” I smile waiting for him to speak, but he returns a flirty smile instead.

“Do you have a moment? I wanted to discuss something with you.” Oh shit! I hope he hasn’t found out. As if Thoms has screwed me from here to Sunday is written across my forehead.

“Is everything okay?” He smiles again grabbing my hand.

“Everything’s fine. I want to go over the Thoms case.” Damn!

“Well, I can’t now. I have a meeting with Mr. Elliot.”

“My last meeting’s at five. I expect to see you in my office at six.” He demands. Oh, he’s serious as hell.

“Okay. I’ll be there.” He smiles before scurrying away. I’m not prepared to deal with this shit right now.

I take a breath before knocking on Elliot’s open door. This conversation should be interesting to say the least.

“Alex, come in.” He says standing to greet me. I’m sure he won’t be smiling once I talk. Elliot towers over me shaking my hand leading me to a club chair in front of his large desk. “So, what brings you here?” He asks sitting beside me.

“I know everything.” I say staring at my fidgeting hands. I figured it would be best to just say it. He stands to hurriedly shut the door of his office then remains standing in front of me quiet.

“Everything?” He asks now leaning his butt against his desk as I look up at his worried big brown eyes. I never noticed how similar they appear. “So, Robert’s your brother?” I ask cautious. He sighs relaxing his broad shoulders.

“That we are. We went in two very separate directions. I fix things the legal way…he does things more….well, there’s no way to sugar coat this Alex. My brother gets hired to hurt people. Sometimes, that’s the only way to get answers.” He says shaking his head.

“I take it you knew about us all along?” He returns to the seat next to me staring warmly.

“Yes, he’s fond of you.” He says with an awkward smile.

“I swear I didn’t know I would end up having to prosecute him.”

He chuckles. “I know that. Question is will you continue the relationship?” He stares waiting for the correct response. I look at him as if I’m a child who’s just stolen a cookie. “You didn’t.” He gasps.

“When he told me the truth I was angry, but he always knows how to get his way.” I say reluctant.

“Yes, my brother is quite the selfish arrogant ass.” We laugh out loud.  After all, I’ve been known to call him that myself. “So tell me. Now that you know, are you gonna help?” He asks cautious.

“Well you’re brother was pretty convincing.” I admit blushing. However this is a dangerous game these two are playing.

He chuckles. “I’m sure. I’m glad I could convince the Judge of his innocence.”

I stare shocked. “Interesting. So Judge Malcolm wasn’t just being a bitch then.”

He chuckles with an uncomfortable squirm. “No, we had to make it look good after all.”

“True.” I’m pleased I’m not a complete failure.

We spend the next hour going over the new plan that now includes me. After all, it’s come to my attention that Robert is innocent…of this anyway. I’m still disappointed Robert’s been lying since the day I bumped into him outside this very office. That’s neither here nor there at this point. It’s time to figure out how we can undo what’s already done.

Finally, I leave his office with a clear legal plan of attack. At least I’m assured that Thoms is innocent. As I sit back in my office my cell goes off.

Asshole:

Are you coming back tonight?

I should consider changing his name in my phone.

Me:

Just ‘cause you didn’t do this…doesn’t mean you’re not a bad guy

Asshole:

And…

Me:

No Robert! Last night was it!

Asshole:

We’ll see…

Ugh! His nonchalant confidence is undoing. Even though I know he’ll force his way back into my life, that doesn’t mean I have to make it easy. However, our focus should be figuring out how Robert was implicated. It’s difficult to concentrate considering what I let happen last night.

__________________________________________________________

“You can’t be serious!” I shout. “You’re such a damn liar!”

“Alex, I had to.” He steps forward but I hold my hand up stopping him.

“You stay right there.” I command. He stares anxiously crossing his arms to wait. I stare at the boards trying to follow the red web reading the titles: Payments…Victim…Killer…My Alias…Finished Jobs. “So you were never married…you’re some type of enforcer or fixer…you’re fucking brother is my boss…and you’ve been spying on all of us.”

“Yes, that’s mostly everything.” He says timid.

“Mostly? Tell me everything now jack-ass!”He takes a breath and inches closer but makes sure not to touch me.

“Alex, no I’ve never been married. I only said that so you’d stop asking so many damn questions.”I stare dazed, not sure if I should be angry at him for lying or relieved that I’m not a home wrecker.

“Why?”

“I know who killed Jason and I didn’t want you involved.”

“Are you fucking kidding me? I’m completely involved dumb-ass! Tell me who right now!” I demand stomping my foot.

He chuckles. “You can’t put your foot down with me.” He smirks inching closer.

“I’m pretty sure I just did jerk.”

“I’ll tell you…if you willingly stay.” Willingly? What the hell does that mean?

“Ugh!” I stare into his hazel wanting eyes as they pull me in. But, I don’t have to stay. Elliot is his brother… he’s aware of the real murderer. I’m sure he’ll tell me. Come to think of it why did he let me go through with this case knowing Robert was innocent? “If you don’t wanna tell me, I’ll figure it out on my own loser.” I turn to walk out, but I hear him flying toward me. He grabs my arm, pushing me against the wall. Hard. I stare at his angry animalistic eyes unable to look away. Oh.

“I am so sick of your fuck-ing attitude. It’s time to shut your ass up!” He shouts.

“Wh-?”

Instantly, he’s smothering my lips with his. He kisses me aggressively bringing both my arms above my head in one of his hands, using the other to roam frantically up and down my body. Yanking my skirt up, he cups my middle staring down at me. “Mine!” He declares through gritted teeth daring me to oppose his ownership before attacking my lips once more. His rough fingers grind my clit hard making me dripping wet. I want to push him away but my body won’t let me. I grind my pelvis against his hand as he tries to force the cum from me. He releases my lips forcing me to open my eyes catching his gaze. “Cum for me baby.” He whispers before he drops his head and nibbles on my neck. Oh goodness. He knows what that does to me. Finally he releases my hands as I feel myself ready to explode. As I’m fisting through his hair I hear him unbuckling his pants with his one free hand. “Let it out!” He exclaims letting his pants fall to the floor.

“Fuck!” I shout finally able to release. He wastes no time lifting my tight skirt and sliding my underwear to the side before putting me on his waist. I decide not to fight him right now. I don’t think that would be wise. He enters me quick as I’m still gleaming from my high. He leans my back against the wall grabbing my thighs tight as he thrusts into me.

“This my-fuck-ing-pussy!” He shouts.

Oh he’s pissed…and I love every angry stroke. I open my eyes to his gluttonous chafed glare daring me to go against him. I grind my pelvis against him accepting his bulge following his erratic rhythm. His need to be inside me radiates through my trembling body. We stare into each other as he enters me faster and deeper filling my warmth. I reluctantly admit to myself how much I’ve missed his sweaty body taking control of me, knowing what I need without a word. As his motions become faster he leans his body against mine pinning me against the wall. As his engorged dick pulsates he thrusts once more before releasing inside me. INSIDE ME! Oh goodness. Did he really do that? “Rober-“. He smothers my mouth with his before I could say anything. He must know I’m not pleased about that. I let him have the last word and luxuriate in the acrimony of his desire.

 __________________________________________________________

“Alex!” I jump seeing Berger standing before me bringing me back to the present. “It’s after six!”

“Oh goodness, I’m sorry. I lost track of time Mr. Berger.” I say standing and gathering the Thoms casework.

“No, we might as well stay here now.” He says irked sitting across from me. His intimidation fills the room as my tense limbs become even more apprehensive.

“Okay, where should we start?” He stares at me silent with an unfamiliar, distressing gaze. “Mr. Berger?” He stands suddenly walking over to me, never losing eye contact and settles his butt against my desk. I step back creating some space between us. What is he doing? I don’t like this intimate tension he’s creating.

“I think we should start with how long have you been fucking Thoms?” He says straight faced.

Oh shit! I stare at him nervous as his eyes fondle me. I back away further once he rises from my desk and approaches. The photo under Killer displayed on Thoms’ wall of deception keeps flashing in my mind.

“I can’t believe how much of a slut you are!” He explodes. My eyes widen in shock as fear overwhelms me.

“What the fuck did you call her?!” Berger and I dart our eyes toward the door to see Robert is furious standing in my doorway. Robert charges across my office like a linebacker going for the quarterback, taking Berger’s throat in his hand and slamming him against the wall. Hard. His frenzied disposition takes over, and there’s no calming him down.

“Robert! No!” I screech as I watch him change from the Robert I know to his Hyde Enforcer alter ego.

“Ally! Get out!” He shouts sending chills through me. I can’t move. I stare at Berger as he struggles to be released. I can’t let this happen.

“This is not the plan!” I shout hoping I could reason with his split personality.

His anger catapults toward me making me cower closer to the wall like a adolescent child. “Plan changed!” He exclaims through gritted teeth. The fiercely disturbed look in his eyes tells me that this person is not the Robert I know.

Before I could say another word, one of Thoms’ goons grabs my arm pulling me out, as the other drops a large duffle bag on my desk. The last thing I see is the bag being unzipped careful to reveal Robert’s tools of the trade. Oh shit! This was not part of the plan…or maybe he kept this part from me. That’s when I know. There’s only one way Berger’s leaving this room alive. It’s time for him to remove the veil, exposing his lies, corruption and murder. It’s time for Jason’s real murderer to face the truth.

Part Two

We’re face to face. He caresses his lips against mine, patiently waiting for me to accept his devotion. “Robert, I can’t do this. It’s a conflict now.” I say trying to fight the urge of my pulsating middle. He slides in closer, trapping me against the door. I have nowhere to go. Not that I wanted to anyway.

“No one would know baby.” Yes…you are an impeccable liar aren’t you? I push him back and face forward crossing my arms and legs. Not tonight buddy…not ever.

“I’m putting your ass in prison.” I say. He sighs putting his head in his hands. I can feel his desperation, but I ignore my consoling impulse to hold him. “Can I go now?”

“No.” He says simply before knocking on the car window three times. The lumberjacks get in and pull off right away.

“What the fu-…where are you taking me?” I ask slithering as far away from him as I could. He cocks his head to the side looking at me questioning my movements.

“Alex, I would never hurt you.”

“Too late jack ass!”

He takes a breath getting fed up with my insults no doubt. “I would never physically harm you. I need to show you something.” I stare at his hazel eyes as his sincerity beams back at me. Through me.  What the hell would he have to show me? Not having much choice, I relent. Besides, one giant snatched my purse and briefcase before throwing me back here. I cannot believe I’m getting kidnapped.

“Fine.” I say rolling my eyes facing forward, but his eyes spewing daggers overwhelms me. “What!” I shout.

“You’re so cute when you’re pissed.” No this motherfucker is not making fun of me. But that’s Robert. He always showed me how enticing my attitudes were to him. I blush thinking about how easy his touch soothes my chaos. His smiling eyes are replaced by a soft caress fracturing my icy façade. I turn my gaze from his breaking his spell, but he grabs my chin pulling me back to face him. “Come here.” He says. I stare at him knowing if I don’t do what he wants, he’ll just do it himself. I slither over staring at him as he slides the back of his hand down my face. His touch takes me back to when we met years ago. I had just started at the D.A.’s office, so I was in great spirits. On my way into the Assistant District Attorney’s office, I bumped into Robert as he was walking out.

“Excuse me.” I whisper admiring his tall intimidating demeanor.

“Robert Thoms.” He smiles extending his hand.

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Thoms. Alexandra Jones.” We continue to shake hands exchanging awkward smiles as the attraction to one another demands our attention. Wow, what’s happening right now?

“I’m sorry Mrs. Jones. I didn’t mean to hold you up.” He says releasing my hand but not my eyes.

“Mzzz Jones,” I correct him, “yes, I have a meeting.” I smile pointing to the Assistant District Attorney’s door he’s fortunately blocking.

“I guess I’ll see you around.” He steps to the side and heads down the hall. I watch him until he peeks back smiling. Oh my, what a beautiful chocolate man. Get it together girl. I smile back before heading into the office.

Hours later, I decide to have lunch outside. To my surprise, I see Mr. Thoms having what seems to be a heated debate with one of my colleagues. How are they acquainted? Why does my colleague look so timorous? Better yet, why is Thoms still here? When he sees me coming, he dismisses my colleague before walking toward me.

“Lunchtime?” He asks smiling as he approaches.

“Yes. How do you know Jason Mitchell?” I ask. He stares as if he’s not sure how to answer.

“We have business together.” His vague response only makes me more intrigued. Not one of my strong suits. “You mind if I join you?” I glare not sure why my dainty simplicity is appealing to his strong mysterious charm.

“I think I can handle that.” He smiles holding out his arm for me to take and leads me to the garden area in front of the building. Sitting he nods at two inconspicuous large men before giving me his undivided attention. I wonder what that was about? His compelling powerful disposition is captivating as I stare into his eyes wondering where he came from and why he’s here.

“Tell me everything.” He says smiling inching closer.

“I certainly can’t tell you everything about me in a half hour.” I say giggling.

“Well, take the rest of the day off.” He says nonchalant. Nervous energy causes me to laugh out loud. Once I see his straight face, I realize he’s very much serious.

“I can’t do that, I just started.”

“You sure? It’ll only take a phone call.” Who are you? It’s evident he’s the Carlito type, so should I have an escape plan? No, he seems harmless…to me.

“How about I just tell you what I can now, and the rest later.”

“I’m all ears Miss Jones.” He says with a generous smile.

“What the hell do you want from me?” I ask as he stares down into me.

“Did you ever think that maybe I didn’t do this?” He asks.

“Oh, you can’t be serious.” I say almost laughing…then I glance at his face. Oh, I don’t think he found that amusing at all. But his prints were on the murder weapon. “Are you saying you didn’t kill Jason?” He stares at me quietly before grabbing my hands, holding them between us. I decide not to fight him.

“Alex, I may have done some bad things, some to certain people, but I didn’t kill him.”

Just then we drive through a large iron gate that opens to a long road. Finally a large house appears before pulling into the underground parking structure. The large men get out and the driver opens Robert’s door. He grabs my hand to lead me out, but I snatch it back. He turns to face me furious. Oops…it’s obvious he’s had it with me now. He gets out of the truck dismissing the giants before turning to face me even more pissed.

“Get the fuck out! Now!” He roars through gritted teeth. I’ve never seen him this angry…with me anyway. I slide over cautiously, but once at the door he pulls me out, shuts the door and pushes me against it. His aggression should scare me…but it doesn’t. It always made my warmth flutter. “What the hell is your problem?” I hate that I want you to fuck me, I answer silently.

“You are!” I shout. He gets close leaning on the truck towering over me.

“What was I supposed to do? Tell you I’m a fucking criminal up front?” I glance at his boiling eyes confounded. He’s so close to my face daring me to make a move. I understand that’s not something he should disclose right away. But there is one thing.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were married?” I whisper. He closes his eyes a moment. When he reopens them, some of the frustration has left.

“Because I wanted you Ally. I still do.”

“You’re an asshole.”

“Yes. I am.” He leans in closer nuzzling my nose again grazing my lips with his. Why is his invasion mentally spreading my legs?

“Why are you doing this?”

“Because you’re mine.” He leans in all the way kissing me hard, making it difficult to breathe. Before I can push him away he lifts my arms above my head, pressing his heavy muscular body against me, and I let him, giving into my darkest desire. He continues his assault as he gropes my plump bottom slowly lifting my skirt before backing up from my lips to catch his breath. No…come back, I think instantly. “Ally, I want you to stay with me tonight after I show you this.” I don’t respond. I can’t stay here. I shouldn’t even be here right now, he must want me disbarred or something. He kisses me once more then pulls me from the garage and into the hall of his large house. He clambers through the foyer and into his study before releasing my hand and walks over to the bookshelf. I didn’t even have time to admire his home considering it’s my first time here. “Listen, this is everything. The whole truth. I hope you’ll stay regardless of what’s behind here.”

“Just show me already.” He eyes me apprehensively before pulling one book down making the bookcase pop open. He slides the large bookcase door open revealing a secret room, which is too dark for me to see a thing. I stand at the opening as he walks in afraid of what he’s about to show me. When he flicks on the light inside the small room, I see everything. His truth. His lies. Everything. “You goddamn liar!”

About My Book

Arousing Objections (Part One)

Part One

“Objection! Your honor, he’s clearly leading the witness!” I shout defeated.

“Well, it’s not clear to me Miss Jones. Now sit down!” Judge Malcolm commands. She is a stout woman with a terrorizing gaze over her thick-framed glasses.

What the hell! I think to myself noticing the defense attorney, Mr. Arnold, snickering as I take my seat. I hate his Paul Rudd wannabe looking ass. Judge Malcolm nods for him to continue while I squirm observing the defendant’s presuming arrogance! His lawless, grubby hands are in this for sure!

By the time the defense is done questioning his witness, it’s obvious my case is over. That fucking murderer will walk.

“Your witness Miss Jones.” Judge Malcolm states. Her scrutiny is daunting as she waits for me to get it together. One thing is certain; I need time to re-establish a case. It’s best to concede for now and hope the Judge allows me to retry.

“Your honor…may I approach?” I ask. She waves for me and Arnold to stand before her.

“It’s evident Miss Jones doesn’t have a case. I would like the charges against my client dismissed.”

I stare at the defense appalled at his outburst. I’d better calm my black girl neck and wagging finger because he’s right. I don’t have a leg to stand on at this point. Judge Malcolm looks for a response, but my overcome guise is evident. I will have my ass handed to me for losing this case. “He’s right your honor.” Achievement covers her face. Interesting…

“Step back.” She commands. “The case against Robert Thoms is dismissed without prejudice.”

“Your Honor!” Mr. Arnold interrupts.

Judge Malcolm eyes him infuriated as I control my optimism. “Therefore, Mr. Thoms you are free to go. However, Miss Jones has the option to retry.” She continues before the crack of the gavel. I smile knowing she has given me another chance to get that asshole. As I gather my things to leave the courtroom, I glance at Thoms and his smug smile while shaking his attorney’s hand. It’s not over yet prick.

The tension radiates from my colleagues as their suspicious eyes follow me through the halls. It’s apparent the news of my loss has echoed through the building already. I did everything I could, however I hope my boss doesn’t suspect something nefarious. After all, Thoms is a powerful man. Before I could take a seat, District Attorney Russell Berger steps into my office. He’s a tall gray-haired man that intimidates the hell out of me. Anxiety burrows through me as I await a barrage of criticism. Consequently, he smiles walking toward me.

“Don’t worry Alex, you did your best.” Oh thank goodness, I still have a job. “When we bring charges next time, let’s make sure your case is beyond solid.” He smiles once more taking my hand before leaving my office. I wish he wouldn’t touch me, it makes me feel uneasy. However, working for the best D.A. in Washington has its perks.

I spend the rest of the day and early evening trying to figure out where I went wrong starting from the beginning. I have to be ready for his conniving tricks next time…there will be a next time. “It’s late…I should rest.” I whisper to myself. Everyone has gone for the day it seems as I walk through the dim corridor toward the elevators. Once the elevator doors open to the empty garage, a large, tinted SUV pulls alongside my car. I stop with a sudden threatening urge to turn back. Without warning, two large men in suits step out of the front charging toward me, but I’m paralyzed.

“Miss Jones, please come with us.” One of them requests. However, I don’t think I’m given much of a choice.

“Ugh, I’m not going anywhere with you!” I snap trying to walk around them, but one grabs my arm as the other opens the back door of the shady SUV. “Get the hell off me!” I shout struggling to pull away. But my tiny stature is no match for this giant lumberjack in a suit handling me. He throws me in the back locking the doors. Fixing myself I realize I’m sitting next to the asshole himself. Mr. Robert Thoms.

“I’m sorry about that.” He says.

“Fuck you asshole!” I snap disgusted and out of breath. He smiles at me as if my tantrum turns him on. I hate he’s so attractive. “What do you want?” I ask admiring his caramel skin. I notice he’s removed the cornrows from his hair letting his long locks free.

“Ally I-”

“Don’t call me that jerk!” His smiles unoffended, but it’s obvious he’s trying to calm me down.

“I miss you.” He says staring at me exposed. Did he really just say that? I suck my teeth, crossing my arms jaded. “C’mon…you loved me once.”

“No! I loved a lie!” I snap. He glares with his captivating hazel eyes pulling me in. I can’t do this! I try to get out, yanking at the door handle but it’s no use. “Let me outta here.” I whisper. He slides over while my back is turned. His alluring fragrance is overwhelming, taking me back to a happier time. Tears fill my eyes as the reminder of his betrayal returns. “Robbie…please…don’t.” I request not daring to face him. He says nothing.  His warm breath cascades down my neck as his fingers creep up my exposed leg. I don’t stop him. I can’t.

“Alexandra, stop fighting this.” He whispers pulling my ear lobe into his mouth in the way only he knows how. My clit vibrates as his tongue circles my ear. Holy shit! I can’t. I turn to his wanton hazel eyes staring down at me. He inches closer leaning his forehead against mine and nuzzles my nose with his. He moves his lips against mine, waiting for me to make the connection. How can I let this happen? How did I not see through his lies before he took hold of me? What should I do?
